KWA M4s are pretty freakin great, but theres a few quirks about them you might want to know before purchasing one. This is a work in progress article.
FPS - They typically chrono about 420fps, which is too hot for many areas. This is due in part to a burly spring guide that puts the spring under more compression than other spring guides out there. Also the piston head is a non-vented type that seals VERY well.
Here's my data:
Stock KWA - 420fps
Stock CA 1J spring in my KWA - 460fps
Stock TM spring in my KWA - 360fps
Hop Up - Its a two piece model, similar to the old TM design, but with a ridge on the nozzle and corresponding valley in the HU unit, for better air seal.
Body - The body cannot take a one piece hop up. The mag well is on the tight side and occasionally has trouble fitting G&P midcaps. The body also is a tabbed design, like a Marui receiver, except metal instead of ABS plastic.
Stock, the sliding stocks on these are kinda loose and like to lose parts. Replace with something better (which are cheap/free and plentiful)
Mag release - The set screw holding the mag release together is a .050" screw, not metric.
Gearbox - The gearbox has torx screws. Otherwise its the most solid box I've ever seen
Motor plate - The motor plate is a Marui style, with a 1.5mm alan set screw and a motor disc _________________ AirsoftReview.NET Staff writer

I'm resurrecting this because I've been working on my KWA M4 recently so the quirks are fresh in my mind. _________________ AirsoftReview.NET Staff writer

Is this for the old KWAs or the G2 KWAs?
If its the G1 KWA then the trigger block is pretty brittle and tends to break in most KWA M4s (mine included). _________________

Both of my KWA M4s have been G1.
I would appreciate your experience with the G2 KWAs. _________________ AirsoftReview.NET Staff writer
